Do employees need to pass English Language examinations?
All existing staff in this country must pass a basic English test, if they wish to change employers, extend their stay or apply for permanent residency in the UK.
Which English Language Test must they pass?
There is a list of acceptable English Language tests which the migrant must pass. We have had a substantial number of local Work Riders and Grooms asking me to help them with the Leave to Remain application. They brought with them inadmissible evidence of the English test. They had been taken in a taxi to London, charged over £600 for the test, only to be told by us that their English Language test is not acceptable to the UK Border Agency. Consequently, we have reached an agreement with an organisation which is able to conduct the tests for £275. These tests are held in our offices in.
