The seminar was very successful, the day ran very smoothly and fantastic feedback
was received by those who attended. |
Kings UK had invited various high profile speakers, including
Colin McLean, a presentation co-ordinator who introduced our speakers and made sure
time slots were kept. All our guest
speakers added value to the event.
They contributed hugely with a range of presentations and speeches which were greatly
received by all attendee’s.
Speaker Chris Wall, President of the National Trainers
Federation spoke about the efforts being made by the NTF, and have already put a
case forward to the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) to consider the racing industry
as a skill shortage industry.
Speaker Cheryl Pellew, Senior Account Manager at the Home
Office provided a very structured and informative presentation regarding the Points
Based System supported by a very valuable questions and answers session.
This gave the attendee’s a chance to seek first class advice and also to
discuss any concerns they may have about the new procedure, followed by suggestions
in aid of the thoroughbred industry and it’s success. |

Speaker Stephen Seymour, Director of Operations at the
OISC also spoke about how they contribute towards the regulations for employing
international staff, and the consequences to employers of using illegal workers. As well as a regulatory organisation,
Stephen emphasised that the OISC are there to advise employers on a variety of issues
relating to this vital workforce.
This will be the first of many seminars that Kings UK
will be hosting. We felt the main objectives
of the seminar were met and in result of this valuable feedback was received, relationships
were built and most importantly contact was made with the employers who we can guide
and support through the new procedure effectively.
